Longsdon seems to have placed Molto Bene shrewdly, targeting Class 4 races, which sit in the middle of the British racing ladder — competitive without being the very toughest company. At that level, Molto Bene has won 3 from 9, or 1 in every 3, which is a genuinely impressive return and suggests the team know exactly where this horse belongs.

There is also a clear preference for wet conditions. On soft or muddy ground, Molto Bene has won 2 from 7 races — just under 1 in 3 — compared to a much thinner record on faster surfaces. When it rains, this horse gets interested. That is a useful thing to know.

The career began properly at Chepstow in November 2024, and the most recent win came at Huntingdon in November 2025. With Molto Bene having raced just one day ago, this is a horse in the thick of things right now — active, in form, and apparently very hard to shake off. Four seconds in a row is the kind of run that either ends in a win or becomes a talking point in its own right. Either way, it is worth watching.
