Miss Tiara

Her recent form makes for interesting reading. Across her last six races, she has posted a 4th, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 5th, and 2nd — that sequence suggests a horse capable of being thereabouts on her best days, while still frustratingly inconsistent. The 3rd and 2nd are encouraging; the 9th less so. She raced just yesterday, which means she is right in the thick of an active campaign right now.

Lorcan Williams has been her regular partner in the saddle, the two of them teaming up five times without a win to show for it. That said, 0 from 5 is not unusual for a horse still hunting her breakthrough — the relationship between horse and jockey takes time, and Williams clearly keeps getting the call, which suggests the yard believes the combination has potential. Trainer Jeremy Scott, who operates out of Brompton Regis in Somerset, has had a productive season with 20 winners, so the capability is clearly there in the stable. Miss Tiara simply hasn't been the one to add to that tally yet.

She typically competes at Class 4 level — mid-tier racing, the kind where horses are genuinely competitive and wins are hard-earned rather than handed out. Going 0 from 4 at that level is not a disgrace, but it does mean she will need to find something extra, or perhaps drop into slightly softer company, to get her name in the winner's enclosure. At six, the clock isn't exactly running out, but the window for a first win is one worth watching closely over the coming weeks.
