Miss Lady Grace

Her recent form makes for interesting reading. Back-to-back second-place finishes earlier in the season suggested a horse who was learning her job and getting closer, and while a couple of disappointing runs followed — including a blank in the middle of the sequence — she bounced back with a sixth and seventh most recently. That kind of inconsistency is fairly typical of a young horse still figuring things out. She raced just yesterday, which means she is very much in the thick of her season right now.

At Class 4 level, which represents the bread-and-butter tier of British racing rather than the top table, she has tried three times and come up short on each occasion. That's not a crisis at this stage — plenty of horses take time to click — but it does mean Dan Horsford's yard, which has sent out six winners this season, will be hoping she can translate her placed efforts into something more. The stable is clearly capable of getting horses to win. The question is whether Miss Lady Grace can join that list before the season is out.
