Mind Those Steps

Trained by T D Easterby at Great Habton in North Yorkshire, Mind Those Steps is part of a yard in excellent form this season, having sent out 128 winners already. The fact that three months have passed since the last win, however, points to a horse that needs to rediscover something. Young horses often go through phases like this — a bright start followed by a dip as they learn the ropes and adapt to the demands of racing. With only four races under its belt, there is still time for improvement, and the recent placement (a second place in the last four runs) suggests there are encouraging signs buried in the recent results. Whether Mind Those Steps can build on those glimmers and develop into a consistent performer remains to be seen.
