In racing, long spells without a win can signal anything from a change in ground conditions that doesn't suit a horse to a shift in the calibre of races he's competing in, or simply bad luck and close calls. His last six runs tell a mixed story: a seventh place and a third suggest he has been out of sorts, but a second place in there indicates he can still get himself into contention.

What stands out more positively is his partnership with jockey K P Healy. In eight races together, Healy has steered Milan Forth to three wins — a 38 per cent win rate that is markedly better than the horse's overall record. This kind of disparity often matters: it suggests the horse runs well for this particular rider, whether through style, confidence, or simple chemistry. Trainer Simon Cavanagh, based at Mullingar in Westmeath, has had a quiet season by numbers, but Milan Forth remains active, having raced just a day ago. At seven years old and without a win in seven months, the horse is at a crossroads; another race or two without success and questions may start to linger about what's next. For now, though, he remains a working member of the yard with at least some history of winning races.
