Early in 2023, McNamara had ambitions for Metamorpheus at a higher level — there were mentions of a potential run in the Boodles, one of the more prestigious jumping races — which hints that the team has always believed this horse has more in him than his record might suggest. Sean Flanagan has ridden him most often, with 5 races together but no wins yet between them, so the combination is still searching for that breakthrough. Given the upturn in form right now, it might not be long in coming.
