Trained by John Ryan out of Newmarket — one of the most famous racing towns in Britain, where the best yards in the country are clustered — Me An' All at least has quality surroundings and experienced hands around it. Ryan's yard has sent out 11 winners already this season, which shows there is plenty of ability in the string. The question is whether Me An' All can tap into that same vein of form.
What is worth noting is that the horse raced just yesterday, so it is clearly in a busy spell of work and the team are giving it plenty of opportunities to find its feet. Sometimes younger horses simply need time and runs to work out what is being asked of them. Three races is a small sample, and there is no reason to write off a three-year-old this early. But the results so far offer little for optimists to cling to — that sixth-place finish stands out as the closest it has come to troubling the judges, and even that would have been well off the pace in most races.
For now, Me An' All is a horse with more questions than answers around it.
