Mc'flo

The recent form figures tell a familiar story. Reading from most recent to oldest, the sequence of 8-5-6-–-10-7 shows a horse that has finished in the middle to rear of the field more often than not, with that dash in the sequence indicating a race where Mc'flo either didn't finish or was pulled up altogether. A fifth-place finish stands out as the closest thing to a bright spot, but in racing, finishing positions only really matter when they come with prize money attached — and none of these have.

Mc'flo typically competes at Class 4, which sits in the lower-middle tier of British racing. It is not the very bottom level, but it is far from the glamour end of the sport either. These are races designed to give horses a realistic chance of winning, which makes the blank scorecard at that level all the more puzzling. Three runs at Class 4, nothing to show for any of them. The team will be hoping something clicks soon, because at five years old, time is not exactly on this horse's side. Having raced just one day ago, at least the enthusiasm to keep trying is not in question.
