His most regular partner in the saddle, Wesley Joyce, has yet to get him into the winner's enclosure across seven rides together. That is not necessarily a reflection on either horse or jockey — some partnerships simply haven't clicked yet — but it is a notable blank on the record. Trainer Joseph Anthony Murray operates out of Navan in County Meath, a yard that has sent out two winners this season, so Master Garvey's Dundalk success earlier this year represents a meaningful contribution to a relatively modest operation.

The recent run of form — finishing fifth, seventh, eighth, third, fifth, and fourth across his last six outings — shows a horse who raced just yesterday and is clearly being kept busy. He hasn't won in those six races, but the third-place finish in there shows the ability is still present. At 50 races and counting, Master Garvey is a thoroughly experienced campaigner who knows his job. Whether he can find a third win to add to his tally remains to be seen, but for a small yard, a horse who keeps showing up and competing is worth more than the bare numbers suggest.
