The horse is trained by Michael Dods at Piercebridge in County Durham, a yard that has already sent out 43 winners this season alone. Dods knows how to get horses ready, and he clearly has a strong team firing on all cylinders. Malulee is by Lope Y Fernandez out of an El Kabeir mare, which gives the pedigree some decent bone and racing sense in the bloodline. Whether that translates to race day success is something only time will tell. For now, this is simply a young horse about to run under rules for the first time, and everything — ability, temperament, whether they even enjoy racing — remains to be discovered.
