Malakai Kite

Trained by Ronald Harris at Earlswood in Monmouthshire, Malakai Kite is part of a yard that has sent out five winners this season, so the team clearly knows how to get a horse ready to win. Harris will be looking for the right opportunity to get this young horse off the mark, and with his most recent run coming just yesterday, there is clearly no shortage of ambition about how quickly they want to find out what he can do.

Two races is an extremely small sample — most horses need time to learn the job, and finishing third and fourth in your first two outings is a perfectly respectable start. The key question now is whether Malakai Kite can take the step forward that young horses often make with experience. Plenty of decent horses look average early on before suddenly clicking into gear.
