When the right track and the right distance align, this horse has shown it can get the job done.

Jockey Alec Voikhansky has been the partner most associated with those better moments, winning 2 of their 9 races together — about 1 in every 4.5 rides. That is a notably stronger record than Major Major achieves overall, and it suggests the partnership has something to it.

The recent spell, however, has been tough. The last six results read 5-7-5-7-9-8, and the last win came at Lingfield back in January 2025 — over fifteen months ago. The horse has also spent most of its career competing at Class 5, the lower end of the racing ladder, and has not managed a single win at that level from 13 attempts. It is a curious quirk: Major Major's wins have come when the competition was structured differently, yet it keeps finding itself in Class 5 races it cannot convert.

Racing just one day ago, Major Major is clearly still being kept busy. The question is whether the yard can find that Lingfield combination again — right track, right trip — because when those boxes are ticked, this is a horse that has proved it knows how to win.
