Magnificent Era

The most charitable reading of that form is the fifth-place finish, which at least suggests there was one day where things clicked a little. But the two last-place finishes bookending that effort tell a more honest story — this is a horse that has consistently found itself towards the back of the field. In four attempts, it has not managed a single top-three finish, which means the yard have yet to see a penny back in prize money from the racing side.

Raced just yesterday, so Magnificent Era is very much still active and theoretically still searching for that breakthrough. At six, it is not a young horse still finding its feet — most horses at this age have a clearer picture of what they are capable of. Right now, that picture is not an encouraging one.
