The recent form makes for mixed reading. A third-place finish sits in there, which at least shows Lunar Majesty can get involved, but either side of it are finishes of sixth and sixth, and the most recent run — just yesterday — ended in another sixth. The yard itself is in decent health, having sent out nine winners this season, so it is not as though Lunar Majesty is training in a struggling operation. It just has not clicked for this particular horse yet.
Ross Berry has been aboard for five of the six races and is yet to ride it to a win, though in fairness, the partnership has not had much luck to draw on. Sometimes a horse simply needs a change of circumstances — a different trip, different conditions, or a new day — to find its way. Whether that breakthrough comes for Lunar Majesty remains to be seen, but with racing having taken place as recently as yesterday, the team clearly has not given up on finding the right opportunity.
