The most remarkable chapter of her story is Cheltenham. She has raced there six times and won all six. Not five from six, not a couple of near misses — a perfect record at one of the most demanding and prestigious racecourses in the world. Her trainer Willie Mullins, who operates one of the most powerful yards in racing — 220 winners this season alone — said after her latest win there in March 2026 that she is "nearly getting into Quevega territory." Quevega won the same Cheltenham race six years in a row. That is the company Lossiemouth is being spoken of in, and it is not flattery.

She does almost all of this alongside jockey Paul Townend. Together they have won 13 of their 16 races as a partnership — roughly 4 in every 5 — which suggests the two have developed an understanding that borders on telepathic. When Mullins put cheekpieces on her before the 2026 Cheltenham race, something clicked. He said he saw "the old Lossiemouth" in a piece of work that morning, spoke to Townend, and the decision to run in the top race was effectively made over a quick conversation that same evening. It paid off immediately.

She is not entirely without mystery. A run at Leopardstown in early 2026 was, by her standards, a failure — beaten well before the finish on heavy, waterlogged ground. Mullins was blunt about it, saying the form shown that day "wouldn't cut the mustard." Owner Rich Ricci was equally candid, wondering whether she simply does not like Leopardstown. But whatever the question was, Cheltenham answered it emphatically three weeks later. She has now won five of the top-level races in Britain and Ireland — the kind of races that define careers — and the feeling around the yard is that she is not finished yet.
