Her best racing comes in the shorter sprints, between five and six-and-a-half furlongs, where she has won three of her five attempts — that's 60%, or three in every five races at those distances. When the race is the right length, she is a serious contender. She also seems most at home stepping into Class 5 company, winning two of her three races at that level, which suggests the yard knows exactly where to place her for maximum effect.
Seb Spencer trains her out of Malton in North Yorkshire, a yard that has sent out 13 winners already this season — a healthy return that shows this is not a yard in the background. Spencer clearly has Lorna B figured out. Most of her races have been ridden by Dale Swift, and together they have an excellent record: three wins from seven rides, which works out at 43% — nearly one in every two times they team up, they win. That kind of partnership between horse and jockey matters more than people realise.
Her recent form reads 4-5-2-1-1-6 going back through her last six races, and while the last run was a sixth-place finish, she had back-to-back wins before that. The most recent of those victories came at Carlisle on 10 July 2025, and her first career win was at Newcastle back in March of the same year — so all of her success has come in a tight, productive window. She raced just one day ago, meaning she is bang in the middle of her season, and with a horse this consistent at the right trip and the right class, another win would surprise nobody.
