She broke through at Fairyhouse in July and followed up with another victory at Naas in early August, four weeks ago. Since then, the most recent five races tell a story of a young horse still finding her feet: a fourth-place finish most recently, a win, another win, then third and third again. It is the sort of inconsistency you would expect from a two-year-old still learning her trade, but the foundation is solid — she has picked up a place in four of her five outings, which suggests she is competitive and stays involved in races rather than getting outclassed.

She is trained by G M Lyons at Dunsany in County Meath, a yard that has been in outstanding form this season, already sending out 43 winners. That kind of firepower behind a young horse counts for something. With only five races under her belt and already two wins on the board, Livenka has the raw materials to develop into something worthwhile. The next few months will tell whether she can tighten up her form and add consistency to her obvious talent.
