The partnership with jockey Bruce Lynn is the most established relationship in Lewa House's career — 15 races together — but even that combination has only translated into the one win, roughly a 7% win rate, or one win from every 14 rides. It is a working partnership rather than a sparkling one, though clearly the team keep faith with it.
Almost all of Lewa House's racing life has been spent in Class 5 company, which is the entry level of the sport in Britain. One win from 22 races at that level, a 5% rate, tells you this is a horse that competes honestly without threatening to win often even against modest opposition. The six-race sequence of finishes — second, fifth, sixth, thirteenth, sixth, and a pulled-up run — shows a horse that occasionally gets into contention without converting, and occasionally has a day where things simply do not go to plan.
What is perhaps most notable is that Lewa House is still racing at ten, was out just four days ago, and keeps getting entered. Not every horse has to be a winner to have a story — some are simply part of the furniture of a yard, giving the yard a runner, giving a jockey a ride, and occasionally giving someone a moment to cheer for. Hexham in November 2022 was that moment for this one.
