Hamilton Park is clearly where Letsbefrank belongs. He has won twice there from 6 attempts, and his first career win came at the same track back in June 2024. For context, winning a third of your races at one course when your overall win rate is around 1 in 4 tells you this is not coincidence — something about the track suits him. At a distance of around a mile and three or four furlongs, the numbers get even more striking: 2 wins from just 3 races at that trip, a two-in-three success rate that suggests his trainer has worked out exactly where to aim him.

That has not always been straightforward. Jim Goldie admitted earlier this year that Letsbefrank had been frustrating, playing up before races and showing little of the form that made him so good the previous season. The yard treated him for ulcers and other health issues, and Goldie acknowledged they may have pushed him hard enough in 2025 to take something out of him. It was patient, considered horsemanship — and it has paid off.

Regular jockey Paul Mulrennan — who has ridden him in 11 of his 21 races, winning just 1 of them — has spoken warmly about what the horse offers even when conditions are not in his favour. After a recent win at Musselburgh, where Letsbefrank was deliberately dropped to the back of the field before picking off rivals turning for home, Lauren Young described a horse who switched on when ridden with confidence rather than forced into a position. Mulrennan, speaking after another success at Pontefract, put it plainly: the horse digs in. Goldie's yard has sent out 88 winners this season, so there is no shortage of talent in Uplawmoor — but a horse who keeps finding more when it matters is always worth following.
