Let's Dream

The Chester result reveals what makes Let's Dream genuinely interesting. He has won two of his last six races, and Chester itself is clearly a track where he thrives—he has won twice from seven attempts there, a success rate that marks him out as a course specialist. Michael Bell explained after the win that the ground, which had been deliberately watered by the track's staff, played into the horse's strengths. Like many of his bloodline, Let's Dream prospers when there is a bit of dig underfoot, and on normal or soft ground he has won three from eight races, a 38 per cent win rate that is genuinely impressive. What is more, Bell suggested that as the horse matures, he is becoming more adaptable—he managed the May win despite initial concerns that the ground might have dried out too much.

Recent form has been mixed. His last six races show two wins, two places, and two efforts outside the first three, with a second-place finish at Ripon just days ago where he spent most of the race chasing the leader. At Class 4 level, where he typically competes, he has won just one from seven races, a reminder that stepping up in grade remains a genuine test. But at Chester, with the ground to suit, the weight right, and a jockey who could control the race, everything aligned. That 33-1 winner was no fluke—it was a horse and a yard operating at their best when the conditions favour them, and that is a profile worth keeping an eye on.
