The Chester connection is the most interesting thread here. Out of 6 races at the course, Let's Dream has won 2 — that's 1 in every 3, which is a remarkable record at any track, let alone one as quirky and tight as Chester. Bell has spoken about how the horse benefits from a bit of dig underfoot, and Chester's team did an exceptional job watering the track in May, giving the horse exactly the surface it wanted. On normal ground across its whole career, the record stands at 3 wins from 7 races — winning 43% of the time, or nearly 1 in every 2. That's not a coincidence.

The win at Chester earlier this month — just days ago — was a 33-1 shock result in a top-level Class 2 race, which means one of the better races in Britain. Jockey Warren Fentiman rode it to perfection, settling in the leading group early and controlling the race throughout. Bell described it as "an absolute peach of a ride." The combination of a low weight, Fentiman's jockey's claim, and the horse's well-disguised ability at this level made it look like a bargain on paper in hindsight — even if almost nobody backed it.

In contrast, when Let's Dream runs in its more typical level of competition — Class 4, the everyday bread-and-butter races — it wins only 1 from 7, or 14%. That gap between its Class 2 and Class 4 records is genuinely unusual. Most horses find it harder as the company improves. This one seems to find another gear on the big occasions. Bell hasn't named a next target yet, but with 45 winners on the board this season from his yard and a horse suddenly in peak form, there won't be a shortage of options. The question is whether there's another Chester on the horizon.
