The recent form makes for interesting reading. After finishing 14th and 10th in its first couple of outings, this horse has shown clear improvement, placing third and then second in more recent races. That kind of upward curve is exactly what a trainer wants to see — a horse finding its feet, getting competitive, knocking on the door. A first win may not be far away.
What does give genuine cause for optimism is who is doing the training. Gavin Cromwell, based in Navan, Co. Meath, is having a remarkable season — 98 winners sent out so far, which puts his yard firmly among the most productive operations in Irish racing right now. When a trainer is firing in winners at that kind of volume, it means horses in that yard are being placed in the right races, prepared well, and given every chance to succeed. Le Tatoue Madrik may still be a work in progress, but it is a work in progress in very capable hands. With the horse having raced just yesterday, this is very much a story still being written.
