The career story has a pleasing shape to it. After a long wait, the first win finally came at Wincanton on Boxing Day 2025 — a lovely track for a first victory, busy with raceday atmosphere and a crowd full of people who've had a few mince pies. Then came a second win at Hereford in February 2026. Two wins in the space of about six weeks tells you something clicked. That's not a fluke — that's a horse finding its feet.

Kayley Woollacott trains from Woolminstone in Somerset, and her yard has had 16 winners already this season, which is a solid, productive campaign for a smaller stable. She's clearly doing something right, and Lau And Shaz is one of the horses helping to build that tally. The most regular jockey, Mr D G Lavery, hasn't yet managed to get the horse into the winner's enclosure across their five rides together — but with two wins in the last six races, at least one of those victories came with someone else in the saddle, and the horse's form is clearly there regardless.
