Lastchancezouloon

The recent form makes for difficult reading. Over the last six races, the best result was that third, with the horse finishing eighth on three of those occasions and tenth on another. That kind of pattern suggests something isn't quite clicking — whether that's finding the right race, the right conditions, or simply waiting for a burst of form that hasn't arrived yet. Racing just yesterday, Lastchancezouloon is clearly still being given every opportunity to turn things around.

The horse is trained by Clare Hobson, whose yard is based in Royston, Hertfordshire. It's a small operation that has punched out three winners so far this season — modest numbers, but enough to show the team knows how to get a horse to the line first when things fall into place. The challenge now is finding the conditions where Lastchancezouloon can do the same. At four years old, there's still time — but the name is starting to feel a little prophetic.
