Yet that Windsor win now sits 34 months in the past. Since then, Korker has raced six times without success, finishing eighth, fourth, sixth, tenth, eighth and thirteenth most recently. The pattern is frustrating — he shows ability, places regularly (19 placings from 47 races), but cannot quite get over the line. Trainer K. R. Burke, based at Coverham in North Yorkshire, clearly retains faith in him. Burke runs one of the most prolific yards in the country, having sent out 145 winners this season alone. In June 2025, the trainer spoke of trying to get Korker back for the Wokingham, a big handicap race, and noted that jockey Jack Nicholls "gets a good tune out of him." What makes Korker interesting now is not what he has achieved but whether, at seven, he still has another run of form left in him. He competes most often at Class 2 level, where he has won 3 from 27 races. That is a modest return, but for a horse whose racing life has been defined by consistency rather than brilliance, it represents genuine ambition.
