The horse has spent most of its time competing at Class 4 level, which sits in the middle of the British racing ladder — not the very bottom, but nowhere near the top. Despite that relatively accessible grade, Knolton Park has yet to trouble the judge in any of its three runs at that level. Racing just yesterday, the horse is clearly still being kept active, which suggests the team around it hasn't given up on finding a race it can get competitive in.
That team is trained by Venetia Williams, one of the more respected names in the sport, based at Kings Caple in Herefordshire. Williams has sent out 16 winners already this season, so the yard clearly knows how to get horses to perform. The fact that Knolton Park is still running regularly under her care is probably the most optimistic thing you can say about its prospects right now — patient, experienced trainers don't tend to waste time on horses they've entirely written off. Something, perhaps, is being learned with each run.
