That sole win came at Redcar in June 2025, and it remains the defining moment of Kinnalargy's career to date. Redcar is a straightforward, fair track on the Yorkshire coast, and getting off the mark there is a solid benchmark for a young horse. The form since has been patchier — a third, then a seventh, then a fourth, and most recently a thirteenth — suggesting Kinnalargy has found things tougher as the season has developed, which is not unusual for a three-year-old still learning the game.

Behind the horse is the yard of Kevin Ryan, based at Hambleton in North Yorkshire. Ryan is one of the most productive trainers in the north of England, and with 45 winners sent out already this season, this is a stable in confident form. Having a horse in his care means Kinnalargy is being prepared by someone who knows how to place horses well and find the right opportunities — which matters a great deal when a young horse is still searching for its best level.
