King Of The Dance

The horse has now gone 14 months without a victory, his last success coming at Chepstow on 11 July 2025. His recent form has been mixed: he picked up a third-place finish in his most recent outing, a fourth before that, and two more placings in his last six races, but no wins. This is a horse trending downwards rather than upwards. Ridden most often by Miss Jessica Llewellyn — they have partnered nine times without a victory — he races primarily in Class 6 events, the lowest tier of competition. When he does get ground that suits him, however, the picture improves noticeably: on normal conditions he has won twice from 17 races (12%), compared to his overall average.

His only win this calendar year came on good ground at Chepstow. Before that, his breakthrough came at Lingfield Park on 6 September 2023. Trained by Bernard Llewellyn at Fochriw in Mid Glamorgan, King Of The Dance represents a yard that has been finding winners this season. The horse appears to be a reliable lower-level runner rather than an emerging talent — the kind that turns up week after week, collects a cheque more often than not, but rarely breaks through at the higher end. For a horse still racing regularly at seven years old, that consistency in the placings has value, even if the wins have dried up.
