The recent form makes for tough reading. Looking at the last six races from most recent backwards — 2, 7, 8, 8, a non-completion, and a 5 — there is one bright spot: a second-place finish in the most recent outing, which came just yesterday. That is at least a sign of life, and it is the kind of run that keeps the yard hopeful. Before that, however, the form tailed off significantly, with two eighth-place finishes and a race it did not complete.
King Berry is trained by Max Comley, who operates out of Warminster in Wiltshire. Comley's yard has sent out 18 winners this season, which shows there is plenty of ability in the stable — making it all the more interesting that King Berry is still searching for its first win. Whether yesterday's placed run signals a horse finally finding its feet is the question worth watching.
