Kindacan is a two-year-old still finding his feet on the track. He made his debut just over a day ago and finished third — a respectable effort for a horse stepping into a race for the first time, though he is still chasing his first win. The trainer,
J P Murtagh, runs a busy yard at Coolaghknock Glebe in County Kildare that has already sent out 53 winners this season, so Kindacan is in an operation with plenty of momentum and experience bringing young horses along. There is time ahead for this horse to progress and learn what racing demands — two-year-olds are at the very beginning of their careers, and a third-place finish on debut is the kind of starting point from which better things often follow.
