What makes his record genuinely interesting is where he has done his best work. Two of his four career wins have come in Class 2 races — some of the most competitive races in Britain — and he has a 22% win rate at that level, winning 2 from 9. That is better than most horses manage at a lower grade. His Kempton win in March 2022 was particularly striking: his trainer at the time, Emma Lavelle, described him grinding out the win under pressure, galloping all the way to the line when others might have folded. That kind of toughness is what separates horses who win big races from those who merely take part.

Ground conditions matter enormously with this horse — he is at his best on fast, dry ground, and his trainer has been clear about that over the years. He was never going at Ascot when conditions were too wet, and even his Wincanton win came despite soft, muddy conditions rather than because of them. His trainer back in November 2023 also flagged a breathing issue that had been holding him back, noting he should have won more races than he had. Whether that issue has since been addressed is not clear, but the fact he is still winning in 2026 suggests something has gone right.

Tom Bellamy has ridden him most often, 14 times in total, but has only won once together — a 7% win rate, or 1 from 14. That is a modest return, though it says more about how competitive his races have been than any shortcoming in the partnership. Trainer Miss Daisy White now has him, and her yard has sent out one winner this season. That winner is Killer Clown. For a twelve-year-old still competing at Class 2 level and winning this week, the story is far from over.
