Khafiz broke through for a first win at Kempton Park in late May 2025, then backed it up with another victory at Doncaster on 10 July — two different tracks, two wins in quick succession, which suggested a horse hitting a real purple patch. Back-to-back wins like that don't happen by accident; they usually mean a horse has found its confidence and is racing within itself. The recent form figures of 25-5-3-9-1-1 tell the full story neatly: those two ones sitting at the right-hand end of the sequence are the wins, and everything since has been a little more mixed, including a finish as far back as 25th in the most recent outing. That kind of drop-off after a hot streak is something to watch closely.

The horse is trained by Edward Bethell out of Middleham in North Yorkshire, a yard that has been in seriously good form — 62 winners already this season is the output of a team firing on all cylinders. Bethell is one of the sharper young trainers in the north of England, and having a busy, productive season like this one means the horses in his care are generally well-placed and well-prepared. When a trainer is winning at that rate, it lends a little extra weight to the horses they keep running.

Khafiz raced just one day ago, so this is a horse very much in active campaign. The last win came nearly ten months ago, which means there's a gap to close — but the overall profile is of a horse with genuine ability, a trainer in fine fettle, and enough early career evidence to suggest another good day isn't far away.
