What's encouraging is recent form. In the last six races, Kaori has finished third three times, which shows consistency and the beginnings of a pattern. Two more placings at fifth and sixth suggest the horse is mixing solid performances with days when it simply doesn't quite fire. For a 3-year-old still learning the game, that blend of decent runs and tougher outings is not uncommon.

Kaori races for George Boughey's Newmarket yard, which has already sent out 99 winners this season—a powerful operation with serious resources behind it. Being trained there means the horse has good support and experience, though ultimately Kaori still needs to convert one of those close efforts into a win. The horse is active and raced as recently as yesterday, so it remains very much in work and part of the daily racing picture. Time will tell whether Kaori finds that elusive first victory or continues as a consistent but unlucky performer.
