Her recent form makes for interesting reading. A run just yesterday, and before that a string of finishes — third, then a pair of fourths, another fourth, and a seventh — paints a picture of a horse that tends to run to a reliable level without quite finding that extra gear when it matters most. She is the kind of horse that will keep you watching but has a habit of making you wait.
She is trained by John Joseph Hanlon, who operates out of Bagenalstown in County Carlow. Hanlon's yard has sent out 11 winners already this season, which shows there is plenty of ability in the stable and that Hanlon knows how to get horses to the line first. The fact that Jury Belle has not yet joined that tally is not for lack of a capable trainer — sometimes a horse just needs the right race, the right day, and a little luck to finally break through.
Whether that moment comes soon remains to be seen, but with Jury Belle still racing actively — out just yesterday — the story is very much still being written.
