The recent form doesn't offer much encouragement either. Over the last six races, Jurality's best effort was a third-place finish, with a fifth on two other occasions and an eleventh thrown in for good measure — that last result suggesting at least one day where things went badly wrong. The horse raced just yesterday, so stamina and willingness to keep showing up are not in question. But turning up and winning are very different things.
Regular jockey Benjamin P Kennedy has been in the saddle for six of those races and hasn't been able to find the key yet, with no wins together from their partnership. That said, Kennedy has a trainer behind him who clearly knows how to win races. Paul W Flynn's yard in Colehill, Co Longford, has sent out 21 winners already this season, which tells you this is a yard that gets horses ready to perform. When a trainer is winning at that kind of volume, it usually means the operation is in good shape — which makes Jurality something of an outlier within it, a horse the team will be hoping can eventually repay their patience.
For now, Jurality is one of racing's honest triers — active, placing occasionally, but still searching for that breakthrough moment.
