Jumeirah Storm

The win at Doncaster in July looks solid enough, but the recent form tells a mixed story. In the last four races, Jumeirah Storm has been placed twice (finishing second once and third once) but also finished sixth and fourth, which hints at inconsistency. The horse wins roughly 1 in every 4 races so far, which is respectable at this stage of a young horse's career, but the gaps between the good days and the ordinary ones are noticeable. Trainer W J Knight, who runs a competitive Newmarket yard that has sent out 28 winners already this season, clearly sees potential in this two-year-old — otherwise it wouldn't be racing so frequently. The key now is whether Jumeirah Storm can string together some form and prove the Doncaster win was the start of something, rather than a flash in an otherwise patchy early career.
