That single run tells us very little on its own, which is actually quite normal at this stage. First-time runners often need the experience of race day just to learn the ropes, and plenty of horses improve enormously second time out once they know what is expected of them. The real story here may still be ahead of her.
What does give reason for optimism is who has her in training. Ross O'Sullivan, based at Kilcullen in County Kildare, has sent out 35 winners already this season — a serious tally that marks him out as one of the sharper yards in the game right now. A trainer putting horses on the board at that kind of rate tends to know when a young horse is ready to run, and when to be patient.
