The overall numbers look modest at first glance: 3 wins and 10 places from 40 races, a win rate of roughly 1 in every 13. But strip it back to Dundalk alone and the picture sharpens considerably. Three wins from 20 races at that track means it wins 1 in every 7 times it shows up there, which is a very different horse from the one that has struggled to win elsewhere. Some horses just click with a particular place — the layout, the surface, the way the track rides — and Jawhary is a textbook example of that kind of course specialist.

The recent form is genuinely encouraging. After two quiet efforts finishing sixth, Jawhary rattled off a second and a fourth before winning just two weeks ago at Dundalk on 23 April 2026. That latest win came on normal ground, which suits it well — across its career, all three wins have come in those conditions, with a win rate of 14% on a good surface (3 wins from 21 races). It clearly wants decent ground under its feet. It also does its best work over longer distances, between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, winning 2 from 16 races at those trips — again, pointing to a horse that needs time and space to find its stride.

Regular partner Adam Caffrey has been aboard for 18 of those races and has landed 2 of the 3 career wins together, giving them a combined win rate of 11% — roughly 1 win every 9 rides, which is a solid partnership at this level. Meanwhile, the McGuinness yard has been in fine form this season with 39 winners sent out, so Jawhary is operating within a team that clearly knows what it is doing.

Racing just one day ago and winning as recently as a fortnight back, this is a horse in the form of its life. At eight years old and thoroughly at home at Dundalk, the smart money is on it returning there sooner rather than later.
