The single win came at Dundalk on 29 October 2025, and jockey Shane Foley was immediately struck by what he saw. He called Iron Lily "genuine" and noted the horse "ground it out nicely" — the kind of language that means something coming from an experienced rider. It suggests a horse that competes honestly and does not give up when the race gets hard. Foley also flagged it as "a horse to look forward to", which in racing circles is not throwaway praise.
Since that win, the form has told an interesting story. A run at Leopardstown in Group 3 company — one of the better races on the calendar — ended in sixth, but the trainer is quick to point out that the wet, muddy ground was entirely against the horse that day. Jockey Billy Lee reported that Iron Lily was so uncomfortable on the surface that he swung wide throughout the race simply searching for better footing. Even so, the horse came rattling home in the final stages, which is a detail worth holding onto: horses that finish fast on ground they hate tend to do a lot more when conditions suit.
The next target is the Tetrarch Stakes, a significant step up in class for a young horse still learning the job. Mrs Harrington says Iron Lily is "doing things very nicely at home" and described the Leopardstown run as one she was genuinely happy with despite the finishing position. For a three-year-old from a yard firing on all cylinders this season, the story feels like it is only just beginning.
