Interchangeable

The recent form makes for difficult reading: a glance at the last six races shows a 6-3-10-6-4-10, which means two finishes deep in the field and no wins at all across that entire spell. There are moments in there — a third place offers a flicker of promise — but broadly, Interchangeable has been treading water since that Naas success.

What makes the situation more curious is the partnership with Mr John Dixon, who has ridden the horse five times without ever getting it to the winner's enclosure. That is not necessarily a criticism of either horse or jockey, but five attempts together with nothing to show for it does suggest the combination has not yet found the right day, the right race, or perhaps just the right slice of luck. At six years old, Interchangeable is not young anymore, and with a race just yesterday, the team clearly has not given up. Whether that persistence pays off remains the question.
