The wins have come at two of the most prestigious venues in British racing. The first came at York in June 2026, a track that tends to sort out the serious horses from the hopeful ones fairly quickly. Then, just weeks later, Inner City Blues headed to Newmarket and did it again — winning as recently as 9 July, which means this horse is racing fit, in form, and very much in the conversation right now. Back-to-back wins at York and Newmarket as a two-year-old is the kind of CV that gets people talking.

Behind the horse is Charlie Appleby's yard in Newmarket, one of the most productive operations in the country. With 121 winners already sent out this season alone, Appleby's team doesn't tend to run horses without purpose — and a two-year-old given entries at York and Newmarket is clearly regarded as something worth nurturing carefully. When a yard of that scale puts its faith in a young horse at big venues, it usually means they like what they see at home.

It's still early days, of course. Two races is a small sample, and the real tests will come as the competition stiffens. But a horse that wins every time it races, at quality venues, trained by one of the sharpest operations in the sport? That's worth paying attention to.
