The partnership with jockey Joe Fanning is the dominant thread running through this horse's career. Fanning has been in the saddle for 16 of those 20 races, and the two wins have both come with him aboard — a win rate of 12%, or roughly 1 in every 8 rides together. That kind of loyalty between horse and jockey usually means the team has worked out exactly what Individualism needs, and it is worth noting that both victories have come on normal ground conditions. On wet or dry extremes, the record is considerably thinner. Get the ground right, and this horse has a chance.

The trainer E McNamara sends horses over from Rathkeale in County Limerick, and the yard has been in good form this season with 22 winners. That is a meaningful number — it suggests a well-run operation that knows how to place its horses in races they can win. The fact that Individualism has been kept busy and has found the winner's enclosure twice suggests the team has done exactly that.

The most recent win came at Hamilton Park on 17 July 2025, and the current form string — which reads 6-7-2-7-12-1 going back from most recent — tells an interesting story. That 1 at the end is the Hamilton win, but since then there have been two very modest efforts followed by a second place finish, then two more quiet runs. The second place, sandwiched in there, keeps the profile of a horse that is still threatening without always delivering. Raced just one day ago, Individualism is clearly an active, well-travelled horse at the moment — and at a mile and three to a mile and four furlongs, where it wins 1 in every 4 races, there is still a race to be won when the conditions fall right.
