In The Breeze

What makes In The Breeze particularly interesting is what happens when it gets to Haydock Park. Two wins from five races there is a remarkable record for any horse — that's nearly half its visits ending in victory at the same track. Most horses find one course they like and never quite explain why; In The Breeze has turned Haydock into something close to a home fixture. Its first career win came there on 27 May 2023, and the pattern has held ever since. Jockey Tom Marquand described the last Haydock win in simple, telling terms: he tracked the favourite, found a gap, and said it was straightforward. When a rider uses that word, it usually means the horse did everything right.

Most of In The Breeze's racing has come at Class 4 level — solid, competitive races that sit in the middle tier of British racing — where it has won 2 from 13 (about 15%, or 1 in every 7). That's a tougher conversion rate, which suggests the horse is competitive rather than dominant at that grade, but it keeps showing up and keeps placing. Recent form tells the better story: two wins from the last six races, with the most recent coming at Thirsk just four weeks ago on 10 April 2026. There was a rough patch in that run — an eleventh and a seventh sandwiched between the wins — but a horse that bounces back from a bad spell rather than drifting away from form is a horse worth following.

In The Breeze raced just yesterday and is clearly in the thick of an active campaign. At eight, it is not getting younger, but Knight's yard appears to be managing it carefully and getting results. The horse has shown it can produce a sharp turn of foot when needed — something that apparently surprised even its previous trainer — and it arrives at Haydock, its favourite track, with winning form fresh in its legs.
