I See The Sea

The most recent win came at Catterick Bridge in November 2025, where jockey Jack Power noted the horse jumped well, travelled well throughout the race, and simply looked more at home on that track than it had on its previous outing. That kind of comment matters — it's a trainer and jockey working out where a horse belongs, trial and error slowly becoming knowledge. Trainer Christopher Kellett, based at Lathom in Lancashire, has sent out seven winners this season, and clearly has a handle on what this horse needs. Early on, he flagged that I See The Sea probably needed to race over longer distances and had more improvement in it — observations that appear to have been borne out by what followed.

The recent form reads 5-7-3-2-7 across the last six outings, with no win in that spell, but there are places and minor finishes mixed in that suggest the horse is running competitively without quite getting over the line. It raced just one day ago, meaning it is fit and active right now. One puzzle worth noting: regular rider Micheal Nolan has been on board for seven of its races together without finding the winner's enclosure, which doesn't necessarily mean anything on its own, but is a thread worth watching if the partnership continues.

This is a horse at the more modest end of the sport, competing in everyday races rather than the big occasions, but that is where most racehorses spend their careers and there is plenty of genuine interest in watching one slowly figure out where it runs best. Catterick suited it. A longer trip seems to help. Whether those ingredients combine again in the coming weeks is the question.
