I Bid You Ajou

Recent form has been disappointing. In the last six races — all within the past month or so — I Bid You Ajou has picked up two places but nothing better, including a beaten favourite as recently as yesterday. The early signs were more promising: a debut win at Fairyhouse on 29 May 2025 suggested the horse had genuine ability, and it has been placed 14 times across its 32 starts, so it is no stranger to running competitively. The problem is converting those near-misses into wins. With a win rate of roughly 1 in every 11 races overall, I Bid You Ajou needs the right setup to deliver.

Mark Fahey's Cloneygath yard has had a solid season with 24 winners, and Joseph Harnett has partnered the horse seven times, winning once at a 14 per cent rate together. The real clue to getting the best from I Bid You Ajou lies in the details: it performs best over distances between 5f and 6½f, winning 3 of 14 races at that trip (21 per cent), and it clearly thrives on normal ground, where it has won 2 of 14 races (14 per cent). At Fairyhouse with those conditions and that distance, I Bid You Ajou becomes a very different proposition. For a horse without a win in 14 months, getting back to what works — and getting back to the place where it belongs — is the obvious path forward.
