Hundred Caps

The most striking thing about Hundred Caps is what happens at Beverley. Two wins from just 4 races there makes it a genuine course specialist, and that kind of affinity for a particular track is not random. Some horses simply click with a venue — the shape of the turns, the camber of the ground, something in the way a track flows — and Beverley appears to suit this one perfectly. The first career win came there on 5 May 2025, and the track has been good to Hundred Caps ever since.

Dry ground brings out something extra too. On fast, dry conditions, Hundred Caps has won 2 from 4 races — a 50% win rate that is remarkable by any standard. That kind of record on a specific surface tells you the horse has a real preference, and it is worth paying close attention to the weather forecast before any race it enters.

Most of its racing comes at Class 5 level — the bread and butter of British racing, one step up from the bottom — where it has won 2 from 9, roughly 1 in every 4 or 5 races at that grade. Ryan Sexton rides most often, partnering the horse in 7 of its 16 races and winning 1 together. The recent form reads 5-5-2-2-1-2 going back through its last six runs, which shows a horse that keeps finding the places but has been hard to get back to winning ways since landing a win at Southwell back in January.

Julie Camacho's yard is in excellent shape this season — 46 winners already, which is the kind of form that tells you the horses are arriving at the track ready to run. Hundred Caps last raced just a day ago and is clearly a busy, active campaigner. Whether it can rediscover the winner's enclosure probably comes down to two things: finding fast ground, and getting back to Beverley.
