Humphrey is a three-year-old whose father is Pinatubo, one of the most exciting young stallions in the sport. Pinatubo himself was electric as a young horse, unbeaten through his first season and widely regarded as a generational talent. His mother's side traces back through Galileo, arguably the most influential sire of the modern era and the name behind a remarkable number of top-level winners across Europe. On paper, at least, the raw ingredients are seriously good.
The yard behind him is worth paying attention to too. John and Thady Gosden operate out of Newmarket — one of British racing's most famous training centres — and have sent out 140 winners already this season alone. That is an extraordinary volume of success, and it means Humphrey arrives with some of the best preparation money and expertise can provide. When a horse from this stable debuts, people notice. Now we just have to find out whether Humphrey himself has anything to say about it.
