Those seven victories have come across different tracks and circumstances, but one pattern stands out. When Hope Rising races at distances between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, it wins more than half the time—four wins from seven attempts at that range. Shorter or longer races seem to drain something from its performance. At Class 4 level, where most of its recent wins have come, it has won half of its six races. The horse knows what it likes and thrives when conditions suit.
