Honky Tonk Girl

Oliver Cole's Whatcombe yard has had eight winners this season, and Honky Tonk Girl is one of his projects. Her recent record shows she's been racing hard — a win three weeks ago, then a third place, a fourth, a ninth, a third, and a fourth from her last six runs. That's not the form of a horse ready to sweep the board, but it tells you she's competitive. At three years old, she still has time to develop, and the fact that she has already found the winner's circle means she is capable of better. The key for her the yard will be to pitch her at the right distances and track her progress. If they can keep her racing at five to six and a half furlongs where she has shown her best form, there is every reason to think she could add to that single win sooner rather than later.
