Trained by Ciaran Murphy out of Mullingar in Co. Westmeath, Hill Silver is at least learning its trade in a yard that knows how to get horses winning. Murphy's team has sent out 18 winners already this season, which tells you this is an operation that competes with purpose rather than just making up the numbers. Whether Hill Silver can tap into that form and add to the tally remains to be seen, but with only one race on the clock, it would be far too early to write off its prospects. Most horses take time to figure things out, and one fourth-place finish tells you almost nothing about where the ceiling might be.
