What makes Hierarchy genuinely interesting right now is that he appears to be in the form of his life. His last six races read 9-8-1-9-8-1 — two wins sandwiched around a few disappointing efforts, which is exactly the kind of erratic but exciting form that keeps a trainer returning to the same horse. He won at Lingfield Park as recently as February 2026, just three months ago, and was out racing again only yesterday. At seven, some horses are winding down. Hierarchy is not.

His most productive partnership has been with jockey Saffie Osborne — trainer Jamie Osborne's daughter — and between them they have built something worth noting. In 29 races together they have won 4, a win rate of around 14%, or roughly 1 in every 7 rides. That is meaningfully better than Hierarchy's overall career average, and the familiarity between horse and rider clearly counts for something. Jamie Osborne's yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 47 winners, so Hierarchy is operating in a confident, well-organised setup.

The horse does his best work on normal ground — not too wet, not too firm — and has won 3 from 18 races in those conditions, a rate of 17%, or close to 1 in 6. He races most often at Class 5 level, the bread-and-butter tier of the sport, and has won 3 from 22 races at that level. Interestingly, Osborne's yard once had higher ambitions for this horse — he competed at Group level earlier in his career, mixing it with the best in Britain before finding that territory a step too far. What followed was a sensible recalibration, and Hierarchy has found his place. He is not a glamour horse, but he is a genuine one — still racing, still winning, still worth watching.
